Barron Falls
Welcome to waterfall country. The Barron Falls in Kuranda is where the Barron River plunges from the Cairns Coastal Highlands into Barron Gorge and thence across the coastal plain.The Falls are at their best during the wet season. There are walking tracks from Kuranda Resort to the Falls and they can also be seen from Skyrail and the Kuranda Railway.
Rainforest Walks
Kuranda is the Village in the Rainforest and there are numerous rainforest walking tracks that can be accessed directly from Kuranda Resort. They include the Jumrum Creek Walk, the River Walk, the Jungle Walk, the Barron Falls Walk and a number of other natural sightseeing options.
Kuranda Markets
The Markets at Kuranda are internationally famous for atmosphere, colour and shopping opportunities. The Markets themselves reflect the culture of the Kuranda community and this is where Kuranda artists and craftspeople bring their goods for sale.
Indigenous Art and Culture
The Traditional Owners of the Kuranda region are the Djabugay Aboriginal people. Kuranda is one of the best places in Australia to access Indigenous Art and Culture. There are numerous galleries and shops selling Indigenous artefacts as well as a number of performances.

Butterfly Sanctuary
Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is the largest butterfly flight aviary and exhibit in Australia.Situated next to the Kuranda markets, The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is home to over 1500 magnificent tropical butterflies that are hand reared on the premises.
Birdworld
Home to the largest single collection of free flying birds in Australia (some 500 of them!), Birdworld Kuranda in the Cairns Coastal Highlands displays no less than 75 species of the most spectacular birds from all corners of the planet - as well as from the earth’s fast diminishing rainforests.
Australian Coffee Centre
Skybury, Australia's oldest coffee plantation introduces one of Tropical North Queensland's newest tourist attractions, The Australian Coffee Centre. Here visitors can taste, tour and take home Australia's purest coffee. This multi-award winning attraction is located 30 minutes from Kuranda.
Riverboat Rainforest Tours
The calm waters of the beautiful upland Barron River provide great photographic opportunities whilst your local guides share their vast knowledge of this unique area. The river is home to a host of wildlife including freshwater crocodiles, turtles, snakes, water dragons and fish together with over 100 species of tropical birds.
Army Duck Tours
